At Last a clear night!!

First clear and moonless night in a long while!  I managed 2h 50min on the Flaming Star nebula (IC405) in the constellation Auriga.  It could do with a whole lot more time spending on it but here is the processed version.  I think this one is really a work in progress.

The big beastie has made it all the way round!!

Todays Sun in poor seeing – the title refers to the spot labelled 1962 which is actually the one originally called 1944 (see last few solar pictures).  it has been carried allthe way round by the rotation of the Sun and has lasted long enough to reappear – looking bigger than before!
