Sunday 22nd May Sun

Only my second view of the "biggie" 2546 in a fortnight!  This was made from 150 frames taken over an hour during some gaps in the clouds.  I also scrapped a further 50-60 where the clouds had spoiled the view!

The Moon

Last nights effort - reasonably clear skies although it was not fully dark for the "whole moon" 6 pane mosaic.  ED120APO, ZWO ASI120mm mono camera.  All panes 200/2000 stacked in Autostakkert2.  Sharpened with L-R Deconvolution.  Stitched and finished in Photoshop:

The return of an old friend

A nice big spot has just come into view - I suspect it is our old friend 2533 that disappeared at the end of April.

9 May 2016 The Sun with Mercury in transit

Today's Sun including a few shots of the transit of Mercury that occurred today.  As Mercury is between Earth and the Sun it occasionally passes across the Solar disc as seen from Earth.  This happened today:

A clean solar image for once!

Clear skies this morning - so out early to take a few pictures.  I'm rather glad I did as it has now clouded over again!  Disc is 44/128 frames and the close-up 64/4000 avi frames using a 2.5x powermate:

A hazy Sun

Lots of high cloud today making for a "white " sky rather than blue.  A bit of patience waiting for a "less white" bit gave this.  44/128 frames stacked in Registax 5 and finished in Photoshop:

A bit late but I did manage 35/100 frames to stack for this effort this evening:

Mayday Sun

Today's Sun through haze but before the clouds rolled in a spoiled the view.  The seeing was pretty awful to say the least!
